    Abstract

    This paper proposes an efficient methodology based on the Monte-Carlosimulationbased bi-objective optimization, to determine base-warranty and extended warranty parameters based on the product lifecycle. The first objective, which is from the manufacturer’s perspective, maximizes the profit while the second objective minimizes the expected number of failures that occurred during the out-of-warranty period. The manufacturer can rectify failed products via minimal repair, imperfect repair and perfect repair.     In practice, manufacturers who offer base and extended warranty should make simultaneous decisions on product pricing, spare part pricing for out-of-warranty products, base and extended warranty policy, and spare part inventory management. Previous studies neither considered the influence of out-of-warranty products as one of the main sources of manufacturers’ profit nor optimized these decisions in an integrated model.     This article considers a biobjective location-routing problem to deliver relief resources to the victims affected by a disaster under uncertainty in demand, transportation infrastructure, and travel time.     The operational planning of distribution network for automotive industry is complex with many conditions to consider, including heterogeneous fleet, enforcing the feasibility of 3D-packing of pallets into vehicles to address the vehicle's capacity in terms of weight and volume, compatibility of orders in a vehicle, returning empty pallets from assembly-plants backwards to suppliers, and delivery time windows.     Considering the players' bargaining power, designing a bi-level programming model is suitable to reflect the hierarchical nature of the decision-making process. In this paper, typical negotiation components perfectly match with the mathematical model and its solution procedure. For this purpose, a mathematical negotiation mechanism is designed to minimize the negotiators' costs in a distributed procurement problem at two echelons of an automotive supply chain. The buyer's costs are procurement cost and shortage penalty in a one-period contract.
