Prof. Jerzy Duszy?ski, European Union biochemistry professor and the Polish sciences academy president, at the invitation of the University chancellor, April 28th; presented a lecture on research priorities in Polish political science, the Polish sciences academy structure and its interaction with the Polish government and universities. Also the potential capacities of Tarbiat Modares university co-operation with Polish counterparts were examined.
*Prof. Jerzy Duszy?ski, corresponding member of the Academy, is a leading Polish biochemist specializing in energy metabolism and molecular basis of mitochondrial diseases and neurodegenerative disorders. He is closely associated with the Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS in Warsaw. In the years 2008-2009 he performed the function of the Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. In the years 2011-2014 he served as the Dean of the Division of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Prof. Jerzy Duszy?ski is a member of numerous international organizations and of editorial boards of leading scientific journals.
