Investigating the relationship between legibility and the rate of territorial behavior in urban parks

Mansour Yeganeh, Negar Dehgan, Zahra Zarei
Journal PaperHoviatshahr , 2021 April 26, {Pages }

Abstract

Landscape design involves functional as well as perceptive and imaginative aspects of space. It’s this particular combination that is essential to making contemporary landscapes more attractive. Legibility is a quality of the environment that clarifies the city and makes the city's image better remembered. In the context of urban parks, the components of spatial legibility can create different degrees of territorial behavior in citizens. According to Lynch's theory, these components include the legibility of paths, nodes, districts, edges, and landmarks. Therefore, the impact of urban parks legibility on number of users and reaching a territorial behavior in these spaces formed the focus of the present study. Territory refers to the part

Analysis of the production of visual richness in national monuments complex and its effect on the visually meaningful sustainability as an international heritage

Naghmeh Motevalian, Mansour Yeganeh
Journal PaperSustainable Cities and Society , 2020 May 22, {Pages 102207 }

Abstract

National monument complexes play an important role in a country and are considered the most important urban elements. These elements are first perceived by the eyes. Therefore, visual perception is effective during one’s first encounter and first impression about a place. This article attempts to discover and study the factors that help the visual richness of a national monument complex. These factors include essential qualities for presentation, use of visually meaningful identity, display of certain elegance to all people, and consecutive views. For this purpose, available theoretical sources are used, visual quality indicators are identified and categorized as practical concepts, and several samples from around the world are analyzed d

Analysis of the Influence of Time Dimension on the National Symbol and Its Immediate Field

N Motevallian, M Yeganeh
Journal PaperUrban Design Discourse-a Review of Contemporary Litreatures and Theories , Volume 1 , Issue 1, 2020 March 10, {Pages 55-67 }

Abstract

Since the national symbol is the most important urban element in terms of nationality, analyzing the influence of time on this symbol seems necessary. Less attention has been paid to the concept of time in the initial comments regarding urban issues. However, it was considered a serious matter after passing of time and observing its influence on urban and identity issues. The current study mainly aims to study the influence of time in the formation of the complex of national monuments, the direct and indirect influence of the time dimension on qualitative indicators of space and its influence on the appearance and semantic dimension of the national symbol and its immediate field. Thus, after reviewing the theoretical basics, many case studi

Conceptual and theoretical model of integrity between buildings and city

Mansour Yeganeh
Journal PaperSustainable Cities and Society , 2020 April 20, {Pages 102205 }

Abstract

This paper seeks to explain the integration of urban public spaces by constructing a composed theoretical framework. Based on theoretical background, four casual conditions- namely, place-ness, convergence in mental schemas, territoriality, and cultural differences, are assumed to exist in the "integration between buildings and city in urban public spaces" (IBCUPS). According to the logic of deductive theory, place-ness leads to territory and if the mental schemas are converged, integration between buildings and city would be percept. This theoretical proposition is analyzed in Iran using a descriptive-analytical research methodology.The findings indicate that the proportion of the total variance of IBCUPS which is explained by a combinatio

Landscape framework for the exploitation of renewable energy resources and potentials in urban scale (case study: Iran)

Maryam Norouzi, Mansour Yeganeh, Talal Yusaf
Journal PaperRenewable Energy , 2020 September 1, {Pages }

Abstract

This study provides a meta-analysis of renewable landscape energies in Iran. In order to do this effectively, we identify and estimate the amount of wind, solar, geothermal, biomass and tidal energy in Iran, identifying the potential for exchanging RE with neighboring countries, and methods for utilizing these energies in architectural design and landscape design. Data used are collecting from local and world databases and presented for analysis using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results show that the level of achievements of the stated goals is generally low. The plurality of RE documents and offices, lack of operational programs and sub-optimal use of private sector capacity are the main weaknesses. It is further concluded

Adaptive Analysis of the Influence of Religious Culture on Patterns of Spatial Relationships at House (Case study: Muslim-Zoroastrian Houses in Kerman)

BAHAEE AMIR REZA SHEIKH, MANSOUR YEGANEH
Journal Paper , Volume 8 , Issue 1001100, 2020 January 1, {Pages 135-150 }

Abstract

The subject of this paper is a comparative analysis of the role of religious values and attitudes on patterns of spatial relationships in Muslim and Zoroastrian homes in Kerman. According to thinkers, the culture has a profound effect on the formation of the house and the spatial relationships that govern it. One of the aspects of culture, values and religious attitudes is that, with their knowledge, one can create a culture-based architecture. This article has been used in the content section of the theory of reflection in art, and in the methodological part, it has used the space syntax theory. The method of this research is a combination of interpretive historical method with content analysis and logical reasoning techniques. Research st

Identifying the Physical-Spatial Factors Affecting Environmental Vitality of Open Spaces within Residential Complexes from the Views of Designers and Residents; Case Study?…

Journal Paper , Volume 13 , Issue 30001054, 2020 January 1, {Pages 117-137 }

Abstract

Nowadays, the exclusive attention to the quantitative aspect of space design has resulted in reduced quality of most open spaces so that most of them lack of vitality and dynamicity. Thus, the present study aims to determine the physical-spatial dimensions of environmental vitality of open spaces from the viewpoints of designers and residents to compare their viewpoints and find the differences between them. The present study is carried out using triangulation design, in two quantitative and qualitative parts. In the qualitative part, a semi-structured interview is performed with those who expert in residential complex design. This interview is about the physical-spatial factors affecting vitality of open spaces. Then, the factors are extra

Journal PaperJournal of Architectural Thought , 2020 December 31, {Pages }

Abstract

Research Problem:?This article provides analysis on space configuration and space geometry in Markets of The Tabriz Main Bazaar. Theoretical approach of this research is based on the theory of space syntax Which evaluates variables such as geometric patterns of markets including the average length and width of shops and passages, the number and different types of axes, and the number of nodes in these markets and the aim is discovering optimal paradigms for optimizing contemporary markets and commercial buildings. In order to discover the most beneficial paradigm, identifying effective components and factors of the Integration, control, visibility and paradigms of the markets and comparative analysis of these models have been studied regard

Meta-analysis of environmental vitality factors in open spaces

Mehrdad Shahbazi, Mansour Yeganeh, M Bamanian
Journal PaperMotaleate Shahri , Volume 9 , Issue 34, 2020 April 20, {Pages 61-76 }

Abstract

Open spaces play a vital role in enhancement of the quality of any environment or space. Human biological conditions can be improved through an increase in the quality of space, which can be achieved when individuals’ everyday psychological needs as well as the functional, environmental, and aesthetic aspects are considered. Therefore, environmental vitality can be regarded as an integral part of a desirable architecture that seeks to convey a sense of vitality to the audience. The present paper sought to explore the theoretical domain of the research conducted in the area of vitality through meta-analysis of environmental vitality factors. The research population consisted of forty articles (twenty domestic and twenty foreign papers) pub
