Materials Determination and Selection

The materials selection and identification (metallurgy) group having a team including the most prominent scientists and experts in the various fields of materials science and engineering, develops widespread activities on advanced challenges and bold phenomena in materials engineering. The group is one of the vanguards of materials engineering in the country and international society.
The most important fields of research are but not limited to metallurgy and technology of electron beam welding, laser beam welding, electromagnetic welding, friction stir welding, hybrid welding, nanomaterials, biomaterials, nanostructured coatings, cold spray, simulation in materials engineering, casting and solidification of advanced steels, fatigue and fracture, materials for energy applications such as solar cells, supercapasitors and steels for hydrogen transfer and storage.
The group in addition to materials engineering research and scientific issues of the day, always attempts to introduce the students with the global, practical and industrial aspects of materials engineering by holding scientific trips, contact with researchers outside the country, specialist lectures, holding exhibition and participation, conferences organizing, invitation of experts and so on.
The group always tries to create a friendly and synergic atmosphere among the academic and official staffs and students by holding the academic student association, recreational journeys, teacher-student social meetings, question and answer sessions, celebrations, annual meetings, and so on.
The alumnus of the group by the scientific, industrial and social proficiency which they have obtained within the graduate education, have a greater chance for occupation or continuing education at higher stages or being a top researcher in or out of the country, in comparison to the others.
The materials selection and identification group always invites in and out of the country students and the specialists for scientific collaborations, sabbatical programs, and continuing the education at graduates and postgraduate.
