Introduction


 

The main mission of the ISCO is development of international activities and collaborations of the TMU, through supporting and integrating a wide range of international engagements. The TMU has a good tradition of welcoming international students and scientists around the world, collaborating with colleagues form other international universities, working on joint research projects, and organizing international conferences. This tradition has resulted in effective affiliations with many universities around the globe. In recognition of the importance of international discourse, the ISCO is also responsible for matters and events relating to the academic and cultural interests of the university. These activities involve establishing and maintaining of mutually beneficial cooperative relations with similar institutions of higher education abroad, including academic and scientific establishments, as well as the organization of projects related to the advancement of international scientific collaboration.
The ISCO directly operates in conjunction with the office of the TMU?s chancellor, acting as the principal executor for the direction of all affairs corresponding to international scientific cooperation.
The history of the ISCO illustrates that all previous directors of the office have tried to approach the goal of internationalizing the TMU. All former directors of the ISCO from the beginning to the present are listed below:

The mission of the ISCO is mainly devoted to contributing to international community in pursuit of productive collaborations in education and research fields at the highest international levels. We are responsible for a broad range of mission issues as given by:

  • To Develop affirmative relations between the TMU and the international academic community, with the aim to promote the TMU?s level as one of the most innovative universities in the international stage;
  • To advise and support international students, scholars and academics;
  • To support departments and institutions of the university to coordinate their international activities;
  • To promote, coordinate, and draft agreements on scientific cooperation between the TMU and international academic institutions, with the aim of transfer knowledge and share experiences for the benefit of faculty members and students.
  • To provide required facilities for the exchange of faculty members and students between the TMU and other foreign academic institutions.
  • To participate in international events, organize international meetings, and host delegates of partner organizations.
  • To correspondence with foreign partners regarding various activities of the faculties and departments of the TMU.
  • To disseminate catalogues, brochures, and multimedia of the TMU.
  • To update the website of the TMU, regularly.
  • To provide on-going support for students and faculty members participating in international programs.
  • To establish membership process of the TMU in regional and international organizations.
  • To participate in international scientific and education exhibitions.
  • To provide entry/student visa for foreign students, faculty members and foreign visitors of the TMU.
  • To facilitate necessary requirements for implementation of international joint study programs.
