Industrial & Systems Engineering

My name is Ehsan Nikbakhsh. I have a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the faculty of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran. My PhD dissertation was on hub location problems under uncertainty and competition. As part of my PhD studies, I spent nine months in CIRRELT (Montréal, QC) as a research intern working on robust optimization models for hub location problems. Currently, I serve as an assistant professor of ISE at the faculty of Industrial and Systems Engineering of Tarbiat Modares University, Tehran. In addition, I serve as the deputy manager of the central office of the Strategic Change Plan as well as executive manager of the Strategic Change Plan in the office of academic affairs at Tarbiat Modares University.

My main research interests include facility layout and location, logistics and supply chain management (with a focus on risk, disaster, and environmental issues), project management and planning, exact optimization algorithms for integer programming problems, and optimization under uncertainty using stochastic programming and robust optimization models and techniques. The results of my research have appeared in various outlets, including but not limited to Transportation Research Part B, International Journal of Production Economics, Computers & Operations Research, International Journal of Production Research, and Computers & Industrial Engineering.

In addition to academic research and teaching, I've been involved as a consultant in multiple research and applied projects for governmental and private sectors during the past decade. These projects have covered many areas of industrial engineering and management, including but not limited to supply chain management, project management, performance management, risk management, as well as business process reengineering.
