Department of Seafood Processing Brief introduction of the department The Department of Seafood Processing of Tarbiat Modares University was officially founded in 2007 and started its M.Sc. Program in 2008. Currently, the science and engineering of fisheries course - the trend of Sea food processing is active in both the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in this group. Comprehensive introduction of the group As a leading national academic institution at the cutting edge of seafood science, the aim of the Department of Seafood Processing is to improve the quality of the existing seafood, designing novel products and introducing marine-based nutraceuticals. The Department of Seafood Processing will facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology in both society and industry. We do the best of our efforts to educate a new generation of students at the interface of science and technology. Department equipment and facilities: The Department of Seafood Processing at TMU is housed in the Faculty of Marine Sciences in Noor campus on the coastline of Caspian Sea. Newly built faculty building has a unique interactive design containing research laboratories, class rooms and conference hall. The Department of Seafood Processing also runs an official peer-reviewed open access journal named Journal of Fisheries Science and Technology in collaboration with the Department of Aquaculture.
