Dr. Mohammad Hossein Basiri was born in 1338.He obtained his diploma degree in mathematics in 1977 from Shiraz.
In 1985 he graduated in Mining Engineering from the Isfahan University of Technology. At that time he become the manager of mining division in Jihad e Daneshgahi in his University In 1986 he was vice chairman of the Eastern Alborz Coal Company, in Shahrud, for 5years.
Then he finished his Masters degree in Mineral Industries Design and Management from the University of Leeds in UK in 1992. After that he was Deputy General Director of the Department of Mines and Metals under Ministry of Mining and Metals in Fars province for two years. َ
After that he persuaded his study in Nottingham University and awarded his PhD from Uk in Mining Economics in year 2000.
In year 2000 he become General Director of the statistics office in Ministry of Industry and Mines for 6years.
In 2005 he was chosen as vice minister in mining affairs. Also at the same time he was selected as chairman of Iran Mining Engineering Organization by the president of Islamic Republic of Iran.
He is also executive manager of the Mining Strategy project since year 2000.
At the present he is assistant professor of the University of Tarbiat Modares as well as Minister advisor in Ministry of Industries and Mines.
