• This field spans four broad areas of surface engineering; coatings; wear and electrochemical corrosion. The research group applies or adapts spectroscopic and microscopic electrochemical techniques to study the interfacial processes of metallic materials exposed to aqueous solutions relevant for the applications. The coatings investigated include metallic, ceramic and polymeric coatings and methods such as plasma electrolytic coatings.

• The field of study spans research areas of physical and mechanical metallurgy; fatigue of materials and fracture mechanics; solidification and casting, welding and manufacturing, simulation in materials science and advanced materials.

• The Nanomaterials group is part of the Materials Engineering Department at TMU. Our research is focused on nanoscale phenomena and synthesis of high purity nanomaterials with excellent physical, chemical and electronic properties suitable for applications in different field of engineering.
