Medical Sciences

Professor Abdolamir Allameh is a full-time member of the faculty of Medical Sciences, Tarbiat Modares University. He received his Bachelor degress (B.Sc) in Microbilogy in 1980 from Kolhapor University, India. In 1983 he recieved Master degree (M.Sc) in Biochemistry from the Grant Medical College, Bombay, India and during 1985-1989 he was working in Patel Chest Institute, University of Delhi for his PhD degree. The main research area he started during PhD course was on the metabolism of chemical carcinogens. He developed in vitro and in vivo assay systems to examine the interaction of chemical carcinogens with macromolecules particularly DNA. In 1989 he joined the faculty of Medical Sciences as the Assistant professor and in 1996 he got promotion to Associate professor position. Five years later in  2001 he was promoted to the full professor position. During this period he was involved in teaching and research. In addition, since 2003 he is acting as the Dean of the faculty of medical sciences.
