International Law

International law, as a branch of law, is gradually turning into a common language for the international community. The world has well understood that in order to avoid the suffering and historical hardships that have caused a lot of pain and financial loss in the past, law and rules should govern people's behaviors even in battlefield and conflicts. These rules and norms can be rooted in domestic, transnational, regional or international laws. Identification, preparation, explanation, scientific interpretation and classification of these rules are first and foremost the responsibility of scientific and academic centers and, in the next stage, the duties of others, including judges, arbitrators'... Therefore, this young field of study needs quantitative and qualitative development not only in Iran but also in the whole world. To accomplish this great national scientific mission, TMU established the department of international law at master level in 2008, and it intends to offer Ph.D. programs in this branch as one of its priorities in near future. Thanks to God Almighty, and the efforts of authorities and competent faculty members, so far, dozens of students have graduated from this department and a significant number of them have been admitted in Ph.D. programs while the rest have been hired by the market to render specialized services. We hope that this field of study flourishes and finds its true academic status in Iran in the future.
