More about the Planning, Development, and Revision Department
Without any doubt the University plays an important role in the political, economical, social and cultural development of the country. In fact, the progress and development of the country in all fields is based upon the progress and development of the quality of higher education. Therefore, it becomes necessary for the university organization to have a department responsible for the Planning, Development, and Revision inside the university. And so, this Department was independently established inside the Tarbiat Moddares University in the year 1997.
The Department of Planning, Supervision, and Evaluation was given the responsibility of planning for the quantitative and qualitative improvement of education while paying attention to the excellence of education. Therefore, a need was felt for particularly more care in the planning and development of the colleges, research centers, fields of study, and majors along with more careful evaluation of quality. Thus, the Board of Trustees restructured this department in 2007. The new department was under the supervision of the Director of Planning, Development & Revision and given the following duties.
1 – Establishing new fields of study and majors within the university.
2 – Revising courses of study.
3 – Determining the capacity for student acceptance.
4 – Designing a new internal evaluation system for the different educational groups.
5 – Evaluating and conducting opinion polls for the units under the jurisdiction of the Vice Chancellor’s Office for Education.

7 – Planning and holding conferences for the Directors of the various academic departments.
8 – Supervising the observance of rules and regulations inside the departments and colleges.
