Faculty Member’s Salaries

    The University is able to pay the Faculty Members according to the upper limits set for each semester if they teach the required number of full-time units listed below.  (The maximum number of mandatory and overtime units for each term is 26 units.)

Evaluation of Faculty Members
A questionnaire for evaluating the teaching quality of the Faculty Members is given to the students at the end of each term.  The results are given to each of the Professors and those in charge for evaluation and improvement of teaching methods.

Faculty Member’s Raises and Promotions

    Yearly raises and promotions are given based on the Instructors’ Educational, Research, and Administrative activities.  The minimum point requirements are listed in the table below (based on the rules and regulations for promotions).

* Having at least two scientific-research articles published in the last three years.

** In order to reach the minimum point requirement, the final thesis or other categories listed in Section 2 of the Promotion Guidelines may be used.

Faculty Member’s Advancement

    One grade of advancement is given annually to the permanent Faculty Members who meet one of the following requirements.

a)  20% of the Faculty Members who are at an equivalent level to those that have been promoted that year.
b)  At the most, 10 Faculty Members who have had the most scientific achievements (publication of scientific, research papers of a high quality).
c)  20 % of the executors of practical research projects who have finished successful projects in the year.
d)  Faculty Members who have accumulated 20 points for scientific, research papers in the last three years.
e)  Faculty Members who have been chosen nationwide as Distinguished Professors.
