The Faculty of Law was separated from the Faculty of Humanities in 2013; of course, since the establishment of Tarbiat Modares University, the field of law has accepted students in the two subdiscipline of Private Law and Criminal Law and Criminology, first at the masters level and then at the doctoral level.
Given that Tarbiat Modares University, as the first and most comprehensive state university center for post-graduate education, has a special position and status in the countrys higher education system, various Law Departments at the faculty level, using the capacity of faculty members and sometimes visiting professors have always aimed to focus their plans on developing and strengthening education and research, especially at the doctoral level. In this direction, conducting field researches, comparative researches and fundamental needs assessments in the field of legal issues with an emphasis on the judicial precedent analysis procedure has always been on the agenda of the Departments.
The Faculty of Law since its establishment, has made an effective contribution to the training of prominent lawyers, legal experts and judges in the country, and a significant number of prominent professors of various law schools in the country have graduated from this faculty.

The main goals and programs of the Faculty of Law:
  • Training of lawyers acquainted with legal and fundamental issues and concerns
  • Strengthening and deepening the legal knowledge of students by taking advantage of the faculty's scientific and research capacity
  • Training of specialized forces in the field of specific and targeted legal research
  • Establishing the connection of students or graduates with various educational, research or executive institutions and facilitating the possibility of their entry or interaction with various institutions
  • Resolving some of the country's legal needs through conducting and implementing targeted research projects or writing theses and dissertations at the master's and doctorate level.
  • Strengthening and expanding group activities or students' legal skills by holding Moot courts, joint legal meetings, etc.
  • Providing a context for the country's legal community to benefit from new and effective legal findings and achievements through comparative studies and research.
