    Abstract

    Innovation & Prosperity Fund (IPfund) in Iran as a governmental organization aims to develop new technology-based firms (NTBF) by its available resources through financing these firms. The innovative projects, which refer to IPfund for financing, are in a stage which can receive both fixed rate (debt financing) facilities and partnership in the projects, ie, profit loss sharing (PLS). Since this fund must protect its initial and real values of its capital against inflation rate, this study, hence, aims to examine suitable financing methods considering risk. For this purpose, risk assessment models are studied concerning how to use risk-adjusted net present value for knowledge-based projects. On this basis, the NPV of a project is analyzed b

    Measuring Exchange Rate Fluctuations Risk Using the Value-at-Risk

    Saeed Shaker Akhtekhane, Parastoo Mohammadi
    Journal PaperJournal of Applied Finance and Banking , Volume 2 , Issue 3, 2012 May 1, {Pages 65 }

    Abstract

    The paper intends to measure the daily Value-at-Risk (VaR) for Rial-Euro exchange rate fluctuations risk. Since in this case we deal with a single risk factor, so we will not use the Monte Carlo simulation method to measure the VaR and we will only use the parametric and historical simulation methods for this purpose. The parametric method using the normal distribution and historical simulation with exponentially weighted data and without weighting is used to calculate VaR. Finally, the obtained results are brought and compared with each other, and we draw conclusions using the obtained results.

    Abstract

    There are many debates about public and private ownership in the economic literature. One of the most important arguments stresses on the role of ownership rather than competitive environment. On the other hand, there is the other argument that the performance of the firm and its ownership depends on the market structure. In this article, in order to understand the importance of these arguments in the context of Iranian automotive industry we advance a historical study of the causes and the nature of nationalization and privatization in the studied industry. This study stresses on the dominance role of Iranian socio-economic context to nationalize the automotive companies in the country. Also, the review of empirical studies on the privatiz
