Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I (HLA‐A and HLA‐B) and II (HLA‐DRB1) allele and haplotype frequencies in a group of Iranian patients with Buerger's disease (BD) in comparison with a normal healthy control group. Methods A total of 70 unrelated male patients and 100 healthy controls from Sina Hospital, Tehran, Iran, belonging to the same ethnic background, were enrolled in this case‐control study. HLA‐A, B, and DRB1 typing were performed by polymerase chain reaction with sequence‐specific primers (PCR‐SSP). Results The results of this case‐control study showed that the frequency of the HLA‐A*03:01 (odds ratio (OR) = 2.88, P value (Pv) = .002), HLA‐A
PurposeKnowledge management (KM) is regarded as an essential factor in project-based organizations (PBOs), leading to organizational learning across projects. Over recent years, most PBOs have inserted project management offices (PMOs) into their hierarchical charts to manage their projects much more coherently. These offices can correspondingly provide KM facilities in PBOs. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the relationship between PMO functions and KM infrastructure, as KM enablers in organizations, in Iranian oil and gas upstream PBOs.Design/methodology/approachA two-phase quantitative survey strategy was exercised in this research. The first phase was to investigate the relationship between PMOs and KM infrastructure and to prioritize
aturity of project management has a great impact on the rate of project success. However, the existing project management maturity models when in use both organizationally and efficiently are costly, time consuming and difficult. The purpose of this paper is to design a project management maturity assessment model for large petrochemical industry projects to assessment project management maturity by existing project management tools and models at every level of project life cycle. In this project by means of multi granded theory that combination of granded theory and transcendent, Project management functional areas are identified.Due to the combination of the two methods, fitslty About 20 studies out of more than 150 related studies we
In order to achieve enhanced organizational performance, strategies have to be realigned with contingency variables like structure and environment. Petrochemical Projects in Iran have faced drastic environmental changes as a result of the Sanctions, fluctuations in oil price, exchange rate, and food products. Based on the contingency theory, achieving better project performance results is reliant on consideration of Business Environment in adoption of project strategy. Therefore, the purpose of the current research was to present the typology of the project strategy based on Business Environment Contingency influencing Iranian petrochemical Projects. To this end, this qualitative investigation was undertaken with an initial literature revie
Introduction & Objective: Metro construction projects are typically complicated and associated with large uncertainties. Underground construction projects face characteristics like underground situations, the large size, large amount of funding,?? various stakeholders, long project duration, and complicated construction techniques. As various stakeholders are involved in metro projects, the interaction among stakeholders lead to complicated risk management process in these type of projects. Therefore, we used social network analysis to investigate social risks related to metro construction projects, from a stakeholder perspective. Method: Using qualitative research approach and interview strategy, we gathered the data?? from 30 stakeholders
Background: The cause of pain when using a tourniquet is not yet verified. If there is an acknowledgment of the role of ischemia in this regard, intervention of oxygen supply can be suggested to reduce the pain. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of oxygenation on the amount of pain when using the tourniquet for patients with hand surgery in an educational hospital between the beginning of 1394 and the end of 1395. Methods: A double-blind, randomized, controlled trial was carried out on patients with hand truma. Participants received either% 50 inhaled oxygen or air placebo via a face mask for 3 minutes before and up to 30 minutes after upper arm tourniquet inflation to 250 mmHg. Pain scores were recorded at-2min
In order to achieve higher performance in organizations, the need for alignment of strategy with contingency variables like Structure and Environment is necessary. Petrochemical Projects in Iran have faced a violent business environment as a result of the Sanctions, change in oil price, exchange rate, and input price of plants. Based on the contingency theory, in order to achieve better performance results in projects as contemporary organizations, it is necessary to consider Business Environment in formulation of project strategy. Therefore, the purpose of the current research was to present the typology of the project strategy based on Business Environment contingency variable influencing the Iranian petrochemical Projects. New digital technology has the potential to decrease the environmental footprint of construction activities, while they increase the productivity and safety involved in major construction projects. Digital technologies such as web-based building information modelling (BIM) and sensing technology are emerging technology that can be widely employed in construction projects in developing countries. However, the construction industry tends to be slow in adopting new digital technology to meet their objectives in developing countries. This paper aims to investigate construction technology readiness for utilization of digital technology in construction projects and to identify the factors that can potentially facilitate construction stockholders?
New digital technologies have the potential to monitor the environmental footprint, mainly Carbon emissions. However, the construction projects slowly adopt such technologies only for monitoring the footprint and other sustainability purposes. Despite the government’s policies and external pushes, the adoption decision for sustainability innovations largely depends on different stakeholders’ behavior including developers, consultants, and contractors. This paper presents a novel conceptual model for green technology adoption regarding sustainability in the construction industry. This model is developed based on six main constructs include organizational facilitating conditions, expected performance, expected efforts, innovativeness, opt
The purpose of this research is identification, evaluation and comparing the reality of" projects knowledge management infrastructures" in some project-based organizations of iranian oil & gas industry in upstream. Applying quantitative method and survey strategy, projects knowledge management infrastructures in project-based organizations of iranian oil & gas industry in upstream were monitored. Khnowledg management infrastructure questionnaires were completed in 41 upstream organizations in oil & gas industry of Iran. Results showed that among infrastructures," organizational culture" and" human resource" had the highest score and" structure" had the lowest score. Many background factors impress the failure or success of a project such as parent organizations. Parent organizations have different functions in front of its under-consideration projects that some of them are value creation and some are value destruction. This issue explains the importance of recognition of parent companies communication way to its subset projects. In this research that has done in two phases and based on mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative), at the first phase, it was tried to specify the parent organization communication way to projects by studying on 6 active-governmental project-oriented organization in oil industry and interview with 21 of top managers and project managers. According to the results of this p
Frequently, strategy implementation problems in projects have stemmed from failure of control systems. For replying this need, the control system named strategic control has been emerged. On the other hand Contingency Theory and Strategic Fit theory suggests aligning project strategic control with Project Management Elements such as Strategy, Culture, and Structure can lead to positive project performance results. The purpose of this model is providing an alignment model of strategic control and project monument elements using Strategic Reference Point Theory. We test our model using data obtained via questionnaire from 32 Petrochemical Process Plant projects. The finding supports that alignment between strategic control and project managem
