Based on a resource-based perspective, the service capabilities comprisemanagerial, organizational, marketing, and service quality components that can enhance the competitive position. Owing to the key roles these capabilities may play in isolation and independent of the performance, the current study aimed to investigate the dimensions and criteria of service capabilities in Iranian Small Enterprises (ESs) employing a combination of fuzzy AHP and fuzzy DEMATELand to analyze and delineate the intensity of relationships among them. Alarge gap in existing research on fuzzy DEMATEL weights concerns determination of weights. Hence, the present five-phase study set out to bridge this gap by proposing an innovative approach to determine weights.
According to H. Simon the famous author of management, decision making is the essence of management. The importance of decision making become more when we want to study it beyond individual level, in organizational level. Because organizations as complex systems of decision making deal with this subject base on various perspectives. Therefore, investigating the rationality underlying the decision making is of vital importance. Current studies in management literature investigate the decision making according to west world dominant rationality (instrumental rationality). Considering the cultural context of our country, investigating the rationality of decision making base on Islamic thoughts is essential. In this paper, the model of rational
A well-designed organizational structure is a cornerstone of achieving an organization’s goals while suiting the environmental challenges. Structural design models must be built in such a way as to understand the inherent complexity of the environment as well as that of stakeholders’ relationships. The viable system model (VSM), which is rooted in Organizational Cybernetics, is capable of understanding external and internal complexities of organizations. This approach is an outline for diagnosing and designing organizational structure. The fundamental idea of the VSM is that the existence of specific systems and their relations can lead an organization toward viability and survivability. This study employed the VSM to dia
Confronting issues of structural complexity having multiple stakeholders with different perspectives, and the systematic nature of changes in these issues, has led to the use of systemic approaches to improve the understanding of the nature of the problem and to solve it. This study aimed to identify strategic renewal in insurance industry by using soft system methodology. The systematic nature of the changes and its complexity and the existence of multiple stakeholders has added to the importance of using systematic methodologies in the insurance industry. Therefore, the rich picture of the research problem, the CATWOE analysis and the root definitions with the agreement and participation of owners through meetings and interviews with expe
Nowadays the efficiency-o7666riented performance evaluation of complex systems be-comes increasingly important for investment and management decisions. This paper proposes a new formulation approach based on dynamic network DEA (DN–DEA) models for multi-period and multi-division (MPMD) systems to measure and decompose the overall efficiency. Although conventional DEA models provide magnificant modeling idea of efficiency measures in the multi-input and -output contexts, they do not account for the multi-division transformation process of decision-making units (DMUs) and present “black-box” measures of their efficiency scores wich causes incorrect estimates of the efficiency points of the units by ignoring the information about the int
Nowadays the process performance is a key success factor in the competitive environment of banking industry. Various approaches have been proposed to identify and improve processes. Process mining is a new process management approach which is supposed to discover and improve the actual process model based on information technology. Despite of the theoretical development, authors have paid less attention to process mining applicability. In this paper applicability of the Fuzzy Miner algorithm of process mining to semi-automatic processes is investigated. We used PM2 methodology with some changes at the first and the fifth step to discover a semi-automated process model. At the first step manual and system data is combined and the desired det
The pharma industry is beginning to realize the benefits of the internet of thing (IOT), especially through modularization, which is already in the detailed implementation and usage stage. pharmatical manufactures that implement IOT technologies can more easily meet requirements for serialization and have the opportunity to leverage intelligent data that are already required in the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. Using system dynamics model, this study evaluate alternative IOT strategies through investment lens, to provide managers guidance for IOT decisions. In this paper we propose a model of system dynamics for IOT in pharma industry. This study evaluates alternative IOT investment strategies to provide managers guidance for ef
Recently, banks and financial institutions have paid more and more attention to operational risk management. As Basel and other risk management frameworks have acknowledged, risk identification is considered as the first step of risk management process. Although estimating the risk of coverage capital is considered the ultimate goal of risk measurement and risk assessment, there is no doubt that risk management and control requires identification of the risks and factors causing them, as well as their causal mechanisms. In the present paper, a methodology was developed to map operational risks, risk factors, risk consequences and their causal links. Process based approach was used for risk mapping, and fuzzy cognitive map was introduced as
