    Journal PaperHuman Geography Research , 2021 February 13, {Pages }

    Abstract

    Introduction One of the most controversial issues in the development of the natural-heritage-intensive sites is the challenge of conservation and development; on the one hand, development should boost the local economy, on the other hand, it should take care of nature and the environment. One of the most important solutions proposed to preserve human geography and convince local people to continue living in their homeland, is tourism industry. This issue makes the need to build new places and infrastructure more serious. Biophilic architecture and urban planning have been considered as an intelligent response to the impact of the development projects in the context. The purpose of this study is to explain the impacts of the biophilic archi

    Influence of Permeability Ratio on Wind-driven Ventilation and Cooling load of Mid-rise Buildings

    Journal PaperSustainable Cities and Society , 2021 March 31, {Pages 102894 }

    Abstract

    Natural ventilation potential in terraced buildings is affected by numerous parameters such as permeability ratio, distribution pattern, depth of terraces, and, etc. This research aims to evaluate the impact of permeability ratio on natural ventilation potential and cooling load of a terraced office building in the hot- humid climate. To this end, one solid block and eight porous models with different permeability ratios (20%-30%-40%-50%) and random distribution patterns were simulated and analyzed by Energyplus engine and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). For better comparison, two distribution patterns for each permeability ratio were simulated. CFD simulations were validated according to the wind-tunnel measurements. The cooling load a

    Abstract

    Microalgae are a sustainable source of unique properties with potential for various applications. Biofuel production has led to the use of them as bioreactors on an architectural scale. Most of these efforts cannot manage the output due to the lack of intelligent control and monitoring over environmental micro-scale growth. This research presents the possibility of control and monitoring over the bio-energy retrieved through micro-organisms in bio-reactors, specifically the growth environments computation. To achieve monitoring, three dimensions of the medium culture captured by cameras, and with the advantage of image processing, the picture frames pixel values measured. In this process, we use the Python OpenCV Library as an image process

    Window geometry impact on a room's wind comfort

    Journal PaperEngineering, Construction and Architectural Management , 2021 March 24, {Pages }

    Abstract

    PurposeNatural ventilation is an environmentally friendly effective way of improving thermal comfort and the quality of indoor conditions if applied properly. This study aims to investigate the physical mechanism of the air movement and also the influence of building geometry in a cross-ventilated room through a parametric study of window geometrical characteristics using computational fluid dynamics.Design/methodology/approachMomentum and continuity equations are solved by the control volume method using a commercially available software. Standard k−ɛ turbulence model is employed to simulate the incompressible airflow and SIMPLE algorithm to solve the conservation equations. Mean air velocity magnitude is measured at three different sur

    Generative Design Workflow for Seismic-Efficient Architectural Design of Tall Buildings; A Multi-object Optimization approach

    Journal Paper , 2021 January , {Pages }

    Abstract

    Designing tall buildings are influenced by several criteria that may have different levels of impact on its architectural form. Today, the wide variety of social requirements for commercial or aesthetic purposes [1] and the power of Computer Aided Architectural Design (CAAD) tools result in tall buildings with complex forms. On the other hand, tall building architectural form is mostly determining how earthquake forces distribute throughout the building height and plan which would significantly affect how structural members would respond to that force. Seismic provisions and guidelines divide buildings into regular and irregular categories based on their forms and recommend avoiding irregularity to ensure a better overall seismic performanc

    Abstract

    Domestic Greywater generated by household chores has a Major Contribution to environmental pollution and is also the best-untapped energy source. Since the past decade, in the Different fields, enormous efforts were made to reach the Bio-Energy from Bio-Waste. These efforts consist of a wide range of Thermochemical, Bio-Chemical, and Microbial Fuels, etc. However, all these efforts are in their infancy. They have high cost and be Efficient on a Large-Scale; furthermore, these efforts used a non-intelligent process that has led to a lack of development in this type of Review. This Ongoing Research presents the smart design process that comes to Hybrid Energy via the intersection of Computation, Wastewater, and Microorganisms that aims to int
